To the girl on the outside looking in,
You are seen. You are heard. You are chosen. You are loved. I know this life has not been kind to you and it breaks my heart to know that it has made you feel unworthy and unwanted. I do not know the details of your story, but they do not define you. They do not determine your value or your future. You were not created to be less than. You are not a mistake and you have not been forgotten by your Creator. You, my sweet girl, are powerful. You are an overcomer. You are just trapped behind the walls you have built to protect yourself from the vile and painful things this world has bombarded you with. Those walls have allowed you to survive, but you were designed to thrive. You are more than the things that have happened to you. I can only imagine what those things are. But I know there is more to you than the tough exterior you show the world. I know there is more than the way you push people away. There is a girl longing to be loved. Longing to fill the void deep inside.
I want you to know that there is hope. That you can unclench your fists that are always ready to fight and rest in the arms of your Father. You do not have to take on the world on your own. It has already been overcome. God knew you and loved you before the foundations of this world. He created you with purpose and is waiting for you to come to Him. When He sent His only Son to die on the cross, He did it for you. He thought about you. He took your pain and brokenness upon Himself so that you wouldn’t have to carry it anymore. He died to defeat the powers of darkness that have held you so tightly. You are free. Free to fly. Free to let go. Free to rest. And most importantly, free to be loved.
Let Him love you. Let Him in. Let Him heal the wounds this broken world has inflicted on you. Let Him forgive you. Let Him wash you clean. Let Him show you how He sees you. Let Him show you the story He has written for you. Let Him wash away your pain, your guilt, your shame, and your sin.
You my dear, are one in a million and you are loved more than you will ever know.
