There were so many God things that happened at training camp…a lot of which I am still unpacking before I write about them. However, I can’t wait to tell one of most exciting stories that happened at camp…
I had a painful muscle knot on my lower shoulder blade that appeared a couple of days before training camp. I had my dad massage the knot and slept on a heating pad to make the sharp pain go away. That didn’t work. It felt like someone was constantly pressing their thumb into my rib cage. I was distraught because I knew I had to carry a heavy pack around for the next 10 days and couldn’t see relief in my near future. I was already worrying about having to spend at least $50 on a massage when I got back from camp to work out the knot. Well, boy, did God show me some things…
Around day 3 of camp, I had already grew so much spiritually and could feel Holy Spirit’s presence throughout the camp. This particular day, we had a speaker, Deon, who was talking about the authority we have in the Holy Spirit to cast out the enemy, whether that be in the form of healing, speaking a word of prophesy over someone, or speaking in tongues (this will be a blog post in itself later). We, being heirs to the power of Holy Spirit, have authority to do all things because Christ has already won over death, hell, and the grave. Exciting stuff, right?!
Deon goes on to tell a personal story of his wife’s migraines being healed. Then, he asked if anyone in the audience has headaches. One girl raised her hand and goes up for him to pray over her. Everyone in the room joins in praying for this girl, including me. At this point, the knot in my back is still a sharp pain and sitting on the tile floor did not help matters. BUT GOD, mid-prayer takes my pain away INSTANTLY. Admittedly, in slight disbelief, I start moving around as if I am in a position that made it hurt less. NOPE, the pain is 100% gone. Just like that.
God showed me through His healing that He has already won any spiritual warfare attacks the enemy tries to throw at my team and I, physical or spiritual. He also showed me that taking the focus off of myself and praying for the healing of others gives me a blessing at the same time.
This is just one tiny story of the power that God revealed to me during camp, and for the sake of not rambling, I am going to share other training camp stories in other blog posts in the next few weeks.
Y’all, if God can use some 21-35 year old, regular people in 10 days, I cannot wait to see what He will continue to do the next 11 months and the rest of our lives!!
