Imagine a life spent in total darkness. A life devoid of nurturing and personal touch. This is the life of a beautiful baby named Fernando. From the first time I saw this precious little boy, my heart melted.
Fernando has some severe disabilities. He has a large amount of fluid of his brain, causing his head to be extremely englarged. He is also blind, and spends his days laying in a crib quietley whimpering to himself.
One afternoon, during our second week of ministry, I was working with little Fernando. As I worked, I prayed for healing and restored vision. I moved my hand infront of his tiny eyes, and he blinked!! I know that doesn’t sound like much, but this was the first time Fernando responded to any visual stimulus. I continued to check his vision, and he continued to respond.
Then, my heart melted. This precious little boy, who had been blind, looked up at me, focused on my face, and SMILED! I was absolutely ecstatic. I went home telling everyone I could about the incredible thing God had done that day.
My team and I have continued to pray for Fernando, believing God will heal him fully very soon. Today, Fernando’s condition worsened. He was taken to a hospital. We paryed all day for his healing. I truly believe that God is going to be glorified through the healing of this little boy.
