Wow, how time flies! It seems like just yesterday we were arriving in Thailand and now we only have two weeks left in Cambodia. I wanted to take some time to catch you all up on what God has been doing over the past few weeks:

 T H A I L A N D:

Our last two weeks in Thailand were spent teaching English. We got a really awesome opportunity to go to a juvenile detention center and teach the girls there English. I was reminded how blessed I am to be able to enjoy the small things, like going to coffee shops, and spending time with my family. It was really amazing to see how God is working there – I can see the desire for more, the desire for God, and I am confident he will reveal himself to them in his timing.

Saying goodbye to Thailand was hard, leaving our home for the past month and all the friends we’d made was difficult, but the excitement of going to a new place was on the horizon.

C A M B O D I A:

Early in the morning on July 1st we left Ratchaburi on a van to the train station in Bangkok, from there we got on a 8 hour bus ride to Siem Reap, we took a tuk tuk taxi to our hostel and spent the evening exploring the city. The next day our ministry host picked us up and brought us to a village near Kampong Cham.

WOW. Everything about this place is filled with the Lord’s beauty, the scenery, the people, and even the food! It is all amazing! I have so enjoyed getting to come along side my brothers and sisters in Christ and serve them here. We are teaching English, playing with kids, trying to learn Khmer, being drawn on with sharpies, and getting to share in what the Lord is doing here. He has CLEARLY shown up in some crazy ways (if you want to read about one HUGE way God showed up, check out Katie Noble’s recent blog post).

I’ve learned that when you allow God into the little things he will multiply them and use them in ways you couldn’t imagine. For example, letting some kids use your arms as canvases. I gave my arms, and gained deeper relationships. I left that night with butterflies, flowers, and other little images all over my arms, but I also left knowing that I got to sit and talk with people. I got to strengthen relationships and get to know kids more.

To write about all the stories and ways I’ve seen God these past two weeks wouldn’t do it justice, but I can’t wait tell you all about it in person when I get back!

God has been teaching me that when you give him your 5 loaves and 2 fish, he will use it to feed thousands (John 6)

P R A Y E R :

-Pray that we stay healthy (kids ministry always runs the risk of sickness)

Pray that relationships continue to grow in the Lord

-Tomorrow we are taking the older kids to the Killing fields, a historical site from the Khmer Rouge regime. This is something that has impacted a lot of these kids, they learn a lot about it in school, but they’ve never been able to see it in person. Pray that they can gain a better understanding of their country’s history, and see the glory of God through such a tragic event.

-Pray that we will continue to live fully present and ready for whatever the Lord has for us in the next two weeks.

Thank you for continuing to praying for my team and I during our time here!
