The kids of the community are well known by the ministry we work with and, now, by us. Everyday we walk by them, see them, swim with them- there’s interactions between us every single day. About 5 days ago, Arvin, a boy with special needs didn’t come home one night. He is well loved and accepted by the community and everyone was worried. Because missing children are so common, the police never take interest or actions in the cases, so the family turned to the president of the community.

The president of the community Arvin and my team lives in, is named Rona. She is THE FREAKING WOMAN. One of the most insane, weird, funny, amazing, diverse, jack of all traits, well known and loved women I have ever met. She posted on Facebook, printed out flyers, called nearby people, etc. trying to figure out what happened to Arvin.

Kidnappings are far from unheard of where we live. And if it wasn’t a kidnapping, once you’re lost in the Philippines, you are almost guaranteed to never be found. (( This over populated country has tons of orphanages. A lot of the kids in the orphanages have parents who are alive and well because, time and time again, parents and children will be separated in a crowd or market, and will never see each other again. Parents have been known to search the Philippine orphanages for years and never find their children. ))
So, essentially, Arvin was gone and not coming back. He should have never been seen by his parents or sister or Rona or us or anyone ever again.

But we worship a MIRACLE WORKING GOD. A group of World Racers gathered together and prayed, people on Facebook saw posts and were praying, the community was praying.. and last night, Rona got a phone call. A terrified, weeping Arvin was on the phone. His parents JUMPED in the car and drove 4 hours to him.

GOD IS SO BIG. HE WORKS MIRACLES. HE ANSWERS PRAYERS. HE BRINGS HOPE. HE IS POWER. HE MOVES MOUNTAINS. HE KNOWS AND SEES EACH OF US. HE BROUGHT ARVIN HOME.

Tomorrow night, the community is gathering together on a basketball court to praise God for Arvin’s return!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYy
