Hello, dear followers!
I realize it’s been some time now since I posted a blog. After the Race my blogging life went downhill. I’m hoping to bring it back soon and share memories and ministry things that I perhaps never shared on my Race. So many awesome things happened!
Mongolia was one country that stands out to me as an impactful month. It changed me forever. This country was the reason I chose my Race route, because Mongolia was placed on my heart many years ago. While there my team and I lived with a nomadic pastor and his family. It was truly an unforgettable month! We helped with their many animals, taking care of house and home, teaching English, and ministering to their neighbors who are few and far between as they came for church services.
The family’s oldest son, Esenka, whom my team called Big Brother, remains friends with me on Facebook. We will contact each other every now and then to talk about life and I will help with his English. He expressed to me recently that a young American, the son of a missionary, was there for a couple of months and taught him to play guitar. I asked Esenka if he still had one to play now that the teacher is gone, and he said no. Esenka said he would wait for the future to buy one since he could not afford to now.
I told him I wanted to help him get a guitar this Christmas! He has looked at guitars and said they are around 150 USD. If I was able to raise almost $17,000 for support on my Race, surely my past donors could help me fundraiser $150, or more I hope, to give him and the family a very unforgettable Christmas this year!
There is a GoFundMe page I am running, here is the link: https://www.gofundme.com/q3q6fg-guitar-for-big-brother-in-mongolia
Please consider making a small or large donation to get our Big Brother a guitar this Christmas! Thank you all so much for your help, Esenka is overjoyed that this is a possibility for him, and I will ensure it happens!
With love,
Hope (and our Mongolian family)
