I am excited to announce my first big fundraiser for The World Race! I just got a shipment of 1,000 beautiful, colorful bracelets made by Threads of Hope. The bracelets are handmade by Filipino women to help keep them out of slavery. Half of the proceeds from selling the bracelets will go back to the Philippines, the other half going to my fundraising account.
I bought some Threads of Hope bracelets about 6 months ago from a girl who was selling them as a fundraiser. I absolutely love them! I have had one on my ankle since May and it is still in great shape! Whenever I see it, it reminds me of the hope and future these women have because of making the bracelets. What an awesome cause to parter with!
The really cool thing that I discovered while setting up this fundraiser is that the World Race actually has had teams go to the Threads of Hope base in the Philippines! That means that not only have people from the World Race been able to support these women financially from selling the bracelets, but they have also been able to support them hands on by working with them on location!
I'm selling the bracelets for $2 each or 3 for $5. As I said, half of the money goes to me and half goes straight back to the women making the bracelets. Its an awesome opportunity to support two great causes, and just in time for Christmas!
