There has been something heavy on my heart lately and I feel as if God wanted me to share it with you as well. For example, in America there is a lot of hurt and controversy.
But something crazy, is when a natural disaster happens, like a hurricane. Everything stops. The routine of controversial life stops. People stop their lifes to help others. Because people, no matter what color or race, choose to help others in time of need. People choose to help others in the community because they see that others are hurting.
But why does something so horrible have to happen for people to come together? It doesn’t have to be like that. God calls us to love our enemies. He calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, we are called to love no matter where we are in the world. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us that. It doesn’t matter what yours strengths are, or what you struggle with. He says that the greatest is love. Everybody is capable of loving well, it just matters how you show it toward people. Im here on the world race to show people how much he loves them. I can do that by playing with kids, cleaning up a commitnuty, praying for people. Serving others is all that God called me to do. Serving is the the key to his kingdom, and that’s my mission. That’s my mission for this trip. To see the world through God’s eyes. To love people like he loves me. What greater story is there to share with people then telling them how much God loves them. Love is a universal thing it can happen anywhere.
As I’m in Swaziland right now, I realize that this love I have for the people here is the same love that everyone should have for each other. So let’s not be a country that just “loves” when something bad happens to us. Let’s love no matter where we are, no matter what we do. That’s what Jesus calls us to do first.
These countries that I’m going to aren’t the safest. They are hurting and they are broken. But God called me to go and I said yes. I know that he is protecting me and that he is there right by my side. I have to let go of everything and trust in him. Through it all God is with me, and if you let him, he can be with you too.
