A couple of days ago after my friends and I got pizza, we met a girl named Elisabeth as we were walking up the hill. I was holding the pizzas and trying to get home quickly so they wouldn’t get cold, so I didn’t really spend that much time talking to this girl or getting to know her much at all. We took pictures in the beautiful sunset and finished our walk home. We told her that she could come to the mission house whenever she wanted to and that we are always here for her. A couple days later, Elisabeth showed up at the mission house and wanted to talk to my friends and me. She had told us a few things and wanted us to give her some advice and pray over her. So we did. We felt kind of pressed to go fast because we were about to have worship as a team. Elisabeth could tell that everyone else was getting ready for worship. She asked if she could just stay. So we automatically said yes and the night began. When we started worship, I looked over and Elisabeth had her head down. The first thing that came to my mind is that she was crying. I laid a hand on her and she looked up and just started to smile. I smiled back, knowing that God is with her. When we started to sing more songs, Elisabeth’s heart was pounding, and she was worshiping the heavenly Father with her arms open wide. I continued to go on in my own worship. Then Elisabeth tapped me on the shoulder and asked, “Hey, can I sing the next song?” So I then told her, “Yes of course! I’ll say something and then you can sing, okay?” The songs kept going and going and there wasn’t a place for me to stop and say, “Hey team, Elisabeth would like to sing us a song” until after we just got done singing “Holy Spirit.” That’s when Elisabeth felt that the Holy Spirit was leading her to sing songs and worship God! We started singing, and I kid you not, this girl had an amazing voice, and such a powerful heart too. I could feel the Holy Spirit moving out of her and into the room. We started singing old hymns for a little bit and then we started to sing “Break Every Chain.” We got to the part in the song where it says, “there is power in the name of Jesus” – there was so much power in that. I have not sang this part in the song so powerfully before. I started to release it and I started to own in with my own heart. It wasn’t Elisabeth that made it happen. It was the Holy Spirit in her that made her sing that song so I would know and declare to God that His name is powerful. That I wouldn’t just say it, but that I would know it with all of my heart! Uhh God is so good and this night was amazing for me. I felt bad that I didn’t really notice Elisabeth before, but I’m so glad that I got to know her heart more.
