On our way to the village we are staying at, we stopped at a gas station which had a place to eat. Right when we got inside, my nose started bleeding. It wasn’t just a Normal nose bleed, it was flowing pretty fast. As the treasurer of my team, I carry the money to pay for our meals. But my nose was bleeding so much that I threw my money bag at my teammate and ran to the restroom.

In the bathroom, there were some of my squad mates that were helping take care of me. I assumed my team was probably going a little crazy because they didn’t understand the Swaziland currency yet. As I got back to my team, they had successfully ordered all our food. My nose was still gushing blood, and I sat down with my head back- nose still bleeding.

But this made me aware of how my team cared for me and how they will always have my back. They kept things under control as I sprinted away when they needed me. They stepped out of their Normal to care for me and handle what was my role. They asked what they could do to help, and constantly checked up on me. I know this was just a regular nose bleed, but it seemed like God was teaching me more. He was reminding me that I’m cared for and seen. He reminded me that I have a family here who will love me well- and that they will see much worse of me.
