On Saturdays we usually have off days, but we had gotten asked to help build a church. When we arrived at the site, the only part of the church that was done was the concrete we were about to use. We started to get in groups. Some of us were mixing the concrete and some of us where helping building the walls with cinder blocks, other serving food. During this time, I couldn’t help but think about what my family is doing back home. Construction, weather that’s with the Hartland homes or my sister being a welder, it has started to be really unique to me to see people build stuff. But this was the church. We were literally building the church for people. It was so cool! I got to stand in a asebley line and pass down bricks to be placed in the back wall of the church. We weren’t able to see what the whole church was going to look like but you could tell what the building was going to be amazing. This was a really cool experience for me because I was seeing where the people were going to church where they would be going to church just a couple weeks later. The workers that we were working with thought it was going to take a couple months for it to be done, but it really only took 3 weeks. People aren’t going to the church yet but they will be soon. My team and I were the body of Christ building the church.
