We made it to INDIA!!!   I am so excited to FINALLY be here!

It’s been an interesting past couple of days. Our initial flight got cancelled. Boo. Even though I was bummed about our cancelled flight, it was really cool getting to spend time as a squad in the airport for several hours. The airline put us up in a really nice hotel for the night and we were able to catch a flight the next day. Flights were loooonnnng but it is so nice knowing 47 other people on the plane. It makes the time go by just a little bit faster. We flew into India two days ago for a couple days of orientation/training.

I have eaten lots of curry and yes, I think it is super spicy.  Curd is now my new favorite food here.  At parent launch I took my jeans out of my backpack and shoved a roll of toilet paper in there instead. It was the best decision I ever made. TP doesn’t really exist in India, they just don’t use it. There are always people everywhere, no matter the hour. Cars, motos and tuk tuks drive around where ever they want and they honk for any and every reason. We have Chai time every day and it is delicious. I’m a fan.

My team will be heading out to the villages in south India tomorrow where we will be staying for the rest of the month. We will be preaching and sharing our testimonies to the people of India and showing love to our host family. To be honest, it makes me a little nervous, as I have never been super comfortable with getting up in front of people and preaching. But this whole year is about pushing through the uncomfortable and growing, so what better way than to spend my first month doing just that?! Prayers would be appreciated. We want to see people healed and hearts changed in these villages! I’m sooooo excited to experience this with my team.

Here is a picture of my rooftop view of where we are staying for orientation. Amazing!
