This is my AMAZING team! They will be with me 24/7 for the first few months. (From left to right) Emmy is a such a great listener. She listens with intent and pours love and light and truth back into them with scripture. Luke makes everyone feel accepted and worthy. He has great knowledge of the bible and he has so much to offer. Carmen is our team leader. She has so much wisdom and is great at speaking life and truth into others. Kyle is our team storyteller and encourages us to blog and share our own story. He makes sure that everyone feels protected and safe. Bekah has such a sweet spirit. She makes everyone feel loved and special. Kim is always making us laugh like crazy. She is always the first to remind us of our purpose and to pray in all circumstances. I love each of them individually for who they are and what they offer and together we make one great team! Pray for my them as we adjust and build community together.
I have been on an emotional rollercoaster this past week. I have felt stress and anxiety when trying to cram my entire life into a less than 50 pound hiking backpack (the packing and unpacking and packing and unpacking and hoping it will magically get lighter and easier each time). I have felt excitement about being reunited with my squad and getting to know more of God’s people around the world. I have felt sadness saying see you later to all of my friends and family for the next 11 months. But I also feel at peace. God has called me to this wonderful adventure and He will continue to prepare and equip me with all that I need. I know at some point this experience is going to challenge and stretch me, but in all honesty, I’m kind of excited about it! My prayer is that I am able to recognize and accept the challenge with a willing heart in order to grow in my relationship with Him. I greatly appreciate all of the prayers, support, encouragement, letters, gifts and time you have given me over the past several months. It is overwhelming to know that I have a massive support system rooting for me back home. I am so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you.
My next blog will be posted from India!!!
