We spend the last several days in San Jose de Campamento, Bolivia! It has been a whirlwind of a week but it has been filled with amazing memories!

We traveled for what felt like forever to get to our ministry hosts house. We flew from Kigali, Rwanda to Johannesburg, South Africa, then from JoBerg to Sao Pablo, Brazil and then from Brazil to Santiago, Chile and THEN from Chile to La Paz, Bolivia. That ended our travel by air but we had to continue travel by bus. Our team took an 18 hour bus ride from La Paz to Santa Cruz to meet with our host, Giover. Then we all took an 8hr bus from Santa Cruz to San Ignacio and FINALLY a 4hr van ride to San Jose!! When we finally made it here in San Jose, we were so excited and yet completely exhausted from traveling.

We stayed in San Jose for around 10 days, encouraging the people of the church. We got to stay with one of the leaders of the church-Nohemis, her husband and 2 children, Wilder and Denar. This city and this house are so full of life, there is always so much going on!

The family has several chickens that run around all over the place and occasionally make it inside the house where they get shooed out. Two dogs keep guard from the horses and donkeys that come trotting by our house throughout the day and night. These dogs were the most friendly dogs that I have seen on the race, they loved the attention that we gave them. My favorite is their huge pig named Doris, who is always on the hunt for food. It became real awkward when they cooked pork for us on our last night. YIKES.

Grace, India and I slept in our tents just outside the house. Throughout the night we always heard and saw chickens, pigs, horses, donkeys and dogs walking around right next to our tents. One night we thought we were about to be trampled by donkeys as SIX of them had gotten inside the gate. It was hysterical thinking about our life in that moment. So different from my life back at home.

In the mornings, we would have morning prayer where we would pray for growth in the church community and what the Lord had planned for us that day.  Every night we have church at one of the neighbor’s, Juanito, house where we worship and share testimonies. We would worship in English and Spanish under this beautiful tree that provided shade and protection from the rain. Every night almost every member of the church would hug and bless me after church. It was such a beautiful community of people. They loved us so well and I pray that we showed them love as well.

Now we are in San Ignacio,Bolivia for the week, stay tuned!!
