Here are some pics of my month in Vietnam!
The staff at our ministry took us out to visit the city of Hoi An for a night on the town! The city has a little street vendor that has the best banh mi (a baguette stuffed with egg or meat, veggies and spices-super cheap) in the world!
Hoi An is known for their beautiful lanterns.
We got on a boat and dropped a lighted lantern in the water as we prayed. It was beautiful seeing all the lanterns lit up in the water.
Throughout the month at our ministry, We got to teach several different classes to the kids at English center all about love. This was one of my favorite memories of our ministry in Vietnam. These kids are so sweet and eager to learn.
Here we are making a dish called banh xeo for the staff at our ministry. It was so much fun to actually cook for the first time in 5 months!! They like to compare it to a pancake. Its not.
Christmas in Vietnam. We decorated our room for the month with stockings, a tree and presents! We drew names and did a Secret Santa exchange.
On Christmas Day, I sat at Starbucks for hours and had quiet time/great discussions with my squadmates. We had a squad wide White Elephant exchange and wrote new lyrics to classic Christmas songs- World Race Edition. I ate Indian food for dinner. It was a GREAT day and I felt so filled up!! I may not have been able to celebrate Christmas with my family in Florida, but I DID get to celebrate and enjoy the presence of my new family here in Vietnam. It was a Christmas I will always remember!
