Hey everyone! I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years! 2018 has already been cause for many celebrations, some joyous and some not so joyous. I had the pleasure of celebrating Jesus’ birth with family that I don’t get to see very often, as well as celebrating the marriage of one of my lifelong friends, Emilie. Last week, my grandpa passed away rather suddenly which was definitely hard to come to grips with, but also very beautiful. My family was able to come together and celebrate my grandpa’s life, a life that was very full of love that overflowed to everyone he knew. I am so beyond thankful for the relationship I had with my Grandpa while was alive.

My Grandpa’s death was definitely a reality check. This life we live is a gift, and I take it for granted way too often. This year I want to spend more time thanking God for the life He has given me, and celebrating Him. I already feel like I have so many reasons to celebrate life in 2018, but I am so excited to see what else God has in store!

On that note, each new day it keeps sinking in a little more that this is the year I leave for the WORLD RACE! I feel like I have been waiting for this for so long, and I just can’t get over that it is almost here. I am excited to announce that my route includes the following countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, India, Nepal, Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, and Albania! If I’m being honest, I didn’t even know that Georgia was a country, but after some practice I can now locate it on a world map in less than 3 seconds 😉 It has been fun to start learning about the culture in each of the countries! I’m starting to brush up on my Spanish, and prepare my stomach for lots of rice and beans during the first five months!

**This is the route I will follow throughout the trip! Also this is the artsiest fartsiest I have ever been, and probably ever will be. **

This adventure is becoming more of a reality each day, and I want to thank those of you that have already joined this journey with me by donating money towards my trip and lifting me up in prayer. I have already raised 31% of my funds ($5,652 of $18,200), and I can’t get over how generous and supportive you all have been. To those of you that have donated already, thank you from the very bottom of my heart. This is such a humbling yet incredible experience. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I still have 69% of my funds to go, and I am pumped to see how God is going to make that happen! This is such a weird trust exercise because $12,548 seems like such an unfathomable, ginormous number to me, but I know that God has a plan. I’ve been working diligently to put 50% of my current income towards the trip, and its fun to have a goal like that to work toward (way more fun than car insurance and gas!)

If you are interested in donating towards my trip, read on because it’s super easy! All you have to do is click the donate button on the home page of my blog. This will allow you to donate online. Every bit of money that you donate goes straight to my trip, and is tax deductible. If you would rather mail a check, you can mail it to:

Do ya ever dream about standing in the middle of Times Square on New Years Eve and dancing in the deluge of confetti? Well I do…a lot…and I keep thinking that that is how I feel right now. I feel like God is just continually showering me with blessings and love and I am going back and forth between just standing here in awe, and dancing my butt off! It is so fun to celebrate what a huge blessing this life of ours is, and take time to be in complete awe of our Creator! Again, thank you for the love and support! Let’s celebrate HIM.
