around 11am and after a long, beautiful day of traveling up the mountains to
get here we arrived about 7:30pm. The bus dropped us off right in front of the
church that would be hosting some of us. They actually have their church
service on Saturday night but they held service off so we could eat first, they
had the most delicious chicken soup I’ve ever eaten. When we had eaten, we went
into the church and as custom in Ecuador, shook every person’s hand before we
sat down. After worship, the pastor invited us up front to introduce ourselves.
Jim, one of the contacts we have here translated for us. Team Reckless pursuit
will be staying at Pastor Ivan’s house and my team, team Luminous will be
staying at the mission school, about a 5 min drive away.
We have no internet access so my blogging
will be limited here. To give you some highlights of our living conditions,
·
We bathe and do our laundry in
a stream
·
We have to get water from that
stream to flush the outhouse toilet
·
We sleep in bunk beds with bug
nets around them, when we arrived the first night; I had around 20 huge bugs on
the outside of my net when I went to sleep.
·
Bugs are everywhere, my legs
are covered with itchy bites
·
It’s beautiful here and I
absolutely love it!
