So it’s been a few weeks now since training camp and I’m
still at a loss for words to accurately describe it. It was an intense week of
putting us in uncomfortable situations that we might face, both physically and
spiritually.  I can’t go into too much
detail in case future racers read this; I don’t want to spoil it for them J

Accommodations: On one of the most uncomfortable nights we
had to squeeze about 62 of us and our packs into a 40 passenger bus and ‘sleep’
for the night. Needless to say other than a few lucky ones, there was not much
sleep going on.  We were three to a seat
and I had to sit on someone’s lap the ENTIRE time, thanks Abby.

 The food: One of the
very first hot meals we were served was fish head soup. For breakfast!  Not the best meal I’ve had, but I enjoyed
trying the different foods and getting a glimpse of what I may be getting
myself into.
I survived, with no weight lost.

Community: This was the part that I was most looking forward
to but dreading at the same time.  I was
a little apprehensive at first, because I was scared that I wouldn’t connect
with anyone.  That fear was immediately
put aside when I met #NSquad. I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing
group of men and women of God.

Teaching- We had on average about 3 sessions a day, teaching on
various subjects such as: Rights and expectations, grieving, healing and
forgiveness, and prayer ministry. It was intense; the Holy Spirit definitely came
through and ministered in areas of my life that needed dealing with. Overall,
it was an amazing experience that has me so excited for next year.
