Summing up training camp in one blog will not do it justice. And I have a feeling that this will be the case for a lot of things that I will experience this year. But I will do my best.

Some words to describe my training week:
   Freedom
          Love
               Passion
                     Friendships
                               Grace
                                    Strength

I went to training camp not knowing anyone but came out with 40 new family members who have the same passion for the world and who I get the privilege of traveling with for a year. They are so great!

So God basically rocked me at training camp. He is so great!! The first couple days of camp was focused on the releasing of baggage that we were holding onto and forgiving and letting God move and work deep inside each of us. Something that was really cool that I learned was the fact that we were meant to be in a deep intimate relationship with God, in the way he originally intended it. He created the world so that we could walk in the garden with him, but the sin of Adam and Eve ruined it. But that we are meant to walk in a garden with our Dad, so that’s what I am choosing to do. I am going to rest in the power of the almighty and walk into his thrilling adventure of life where I get to meet and love his people.

I learned this week a lot about what it looks like to declare the truths of God over my life. Not only so that I can really start to believe them for myself. But there is also something so freeing to be able to stand up strong in the truth. So many times I realized we believe lies about who we are, who people told us we are, and not look at ourselves through the eyes of someone who loves us more then we can understand. Losing sight of my ultimate goal and purpose is something that declarations allow me to get back. Let me tell you what declarations are briefly, they are statements that you say aloud with passion allowing yourself to fully believe them. They can be said quietly or yelled loud, but its about speaking the truth aloud. But let me tell you, yelling truths in the backwoods of Georgia was one of the most bonding and freeing experiences of my squad. Breaking off the chains that were holding us back from everything that we can and want to be. Choosing to walk in the freedom and truth that we are meant to believe about ourselves as we head into this adventure together for the next year of our lives.

So after training camp I have realized there is no turning back. (Not that I want to). But I am heading into this journey with 40 other people who want to see change and love come to the world. We get to go and bring love to the world, we get to carry all our possessions on our backs for a year to meet people that have never known true Hope. We are so blessed!
