Ebola. What a way to my change plans.

So we were supposed to be in Uganda this month for ministry. But because of the Ebola outbreak in Uganda, we were rerouted to stay in Kenya for another month. So my world race will be 10 countries in 11 months instead.

This was initially very difficult for me, I am ashamed to admit that I actually pouted about it for a couple of days. Because my team was going to have the opportunity to head back to a ministry that I worked with 2 years ago and love so much, Kyampisi Childcare Ministries. This place holds a very special place in my heart and I was really excited to get to go back and see progress of ministry and reconnect  with old friends. They are a ministry that works with vulnerable children to try and give the opportunities to education so that they don't become victims of Child Sacrifice or other things, but can have a chance at a better future. Here are some pictures from my trip to Kyampisi 2 years ago.

But the reality is that it was beyond my control (and pouting really didnt help with our chances of going). The risk was to high to take the chance and go anyway. This took me a few days to get over and realize that ultimately it is in God's purpose that I was not supposed to go back at this time and he had a different path that I was supposed to walk on. So right now I am choosing joy.

So what am I doing instead…
-Driving a tuk-tuk.
-Living in a 3 bedroom house with 13 women, a family of 4 and their housegirl.
-Mowing grass.
-Getting to hear 60 kids in Juevinile detention center yell "i have a future" (let me tell   you, it was powerful!)
-Discovering part of my dream for the future.
-Making an impact for God's kingdom in unexpected ways.

More to come soon….

But in the meantime check out the website for the amazing ministry that I love alot and hope that God gives me the opportunity to go back to someday. http://www.kyampisi.org/KCM/
