While I am sad to be skipping Ukraine, I am sooo excited for the ministry opportunity for month two in Romania. My team will be working at a place called Caminul Felix Village. It is a village created to house orphaned children in a family environment. Each home houses 10-15 children with a married couple who loves and cares for them as parents. The village is located in the city of Oradea. It is a little bit of shock being back in a city!
We arrived at our ministry site on Tuesday evening after a long travel day involving spending the night at a McDonald's and 14 hours on a hot, cramped train to what seemed like heaven. We have the pleasure of staying at a beautiful facility with comfortable beds, hot showers, real toilets, and the largest kitchen I've ever gotten to cook in! There is a working farm on the grounds too, so we have access to fresh milk every day.
Our day will begin each morning at 8am doing construction work and then after lunch spending time with the kids. It has been a joy to see the love that flows from each of my teammates when we've worked with children, so I'm excited to see more of that. And I can't wait to throw on a hard hat and get my hands dirty!
