When I first looked at the route for this world race, Nepal was the country that stuck out to me the most. It was like a bright flashing light around the name "Nepal". And here it is. In just a couple days I will be there.
It is a bittersweet time though. A time of change. I will be going into Nepal with a new team.
I still remember teams being announced at training camp. We were the quirkiest mix of girls, each of us so different. We bonded quickly though and these girls became my family. A family that laughed together, cried together, showered together, poured ourselves out in the ministry field together, fought for each other together, prayed together, danced together, loved together. I can't believe that we only spent 3 months together because I feel like they've been my lifelong sisters.
Saying goodbye to these girls, my sisters, is hard. I am going to miss morning runs and late night ice cream splurges with Meesh, deep conversations and wrestling matches with Carlot, sharing visions and random laughter with Jess, and enjoying hugs at just the right moment and sassy humor from Daniele.
I'm excited for my new team though. I can't wait to spend the next 8 months with a new set of amazing girls. I can already see where God is going to take us as we serve in Nepal, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Philippines.
