It's amazing that all my belongings for the next 11 months have been packed into a single backpack. I used to be the girl who needed 2 large suitcases at max weight to go on a week-long vacation. And now here I am. I never would have guessed how freeing it is to get rid of excess stuff and narrowing down what I really "need" in life.
So here's my packing list:
- Tent/footprint
- Sleeping bag, mat, pillow
- Plate/bowl/cup set made of the finest blue plastic REI has to offer
- Quick-drying towel
- Clothes
- French press (coffee still remains on my "need" list in life, haha)
- multivitamins, supplements, medications
- Toiletries
- Bandanas
- Clothesline
- 1st aid kit
- Wet wipes (why shower when you can wet wipe?)
- Stickers for the kids
- Swiss army knife (I've already played with it and realized it's really sharp)
- Jump rope and resistance bands

- Headlamp
- Camera
- Ipod loaded with some awesome worship music (I have a feeling this will be one of my best friends on the trip)
- Nalgene bottle
- Running shoes (can't wait to run in all the different countries!)
- Nail polish (each girl on my team is bringing a different color so we can swap around!)
- Bible/notebooks
- Netbook (so all of you can stay posted!)
- Passport (the one thing NOT to forget)
I will be flying out of the country on July 10th (whoa, that's tomorrow!) and making my way to Romania. That is the country listed as my first stop…However, my team will be moving on to Moldova!
I'm ready to begin this adventure!
