Yard Sale

I feel as though this week has escaped me. There was a lot of donations toward the yard sale and getting it sorted and in order was quite the task for me an Amanda (and Billy), and I am excited to see how God blesses you and us for being apart of this (His) ministry. Before we were done sorting through everything two neighbors and dad’s secretary (Julie) had already purchased $52 worth items. God is so good (and we are so blessed!) Yard sale tomorrow and Sunday starting 8am and ending at 3pm. Come on by and look at all the treasure!

Less for More (Weight Loss)

I am excited to announce that this week because of the “Less for More” challenge I have lost 5 lbs!! (I am now down to 215.) I am not a fan of diets or of exercise (anything to do with restraint or self control really) but this week God has given me strength to get over myself. (11 more weeks Lord… give me 11 more weeks!) I was off to a rough start with cake this last weekend. On Friday, being my last day at work, Lora being so wonderful got me a huge cake. There was more cake temptation at my niece’s adoption party on Saturday… and a best friend’s birthday on Sunday lead to more yummy dessert. I thought surely I had gained weight. I am living proof that you can eat cake and loose weight. I did a lot of dancing (including but not limited to the dosie-doe, the conga line, footloose and thriller) and a ten mile bike ride to make up for it, but it can be done. If you are still wanting to sponsor me and be apart of the Less for More weight loss challenge there is still time. You can contact me through email or my cell phone if you have the number. There is also a “support us” link on my web page www.katiesullivan.theworldrace.org.

Thank you to everyone that has been so involved in this process! I am truly grateful for your support and sponsorship! I’m excited to see God’s provision in all the preparation I have to go through before I leave. The total fundraising goal is $14,000.00 and I have $750.00 so far, I need to be at 2,500 by the end of September. There are more fundraisers to come and hopefully more sponsors through the weight loss challenge.

The Race Route

My teammates and I have heard from AIM about our race route and as we may not go to these exact countries we will most likely be going to these regions:

January – Caribbean – Domincan Republic
February – Caribbean – Haiti
March – Caribbean – Jamaica

April – Southeast Asia – Thailand
May – Southeast Asia – Vietnam
June – Southeast Asia – Cambodia

July – Southern Africa – South Africa
August – Southern Africa – Mozambique
September – Southern Africa – Swaziland

October – Eastern Europe – Bosnia
November – Eastern Europe – Romania

I have cut out maps and posted them around the house… They are a source of motivation for this weight loss challenge. I am becoming less (physically) for something that is so much more than anything I could think of. I am so excited to get there… to become less.
