I’ve travelled to faraway places,

Met hundreds of beautiful faces,

Operated on the Lord’s graces,

And now it’s time to tie my laces…

AGAIN.

I am incredibly excited and honored to announce to you that in January 2015, I will be leaving on the World Race one more time! This go-around, though, is going to look a bit different.

Here’s the quick breakdown: When I left on the World Race in July 2013, I traveled with Q squad to 11 countries in 11 months. We partnered with Christians around the world to serve the needs of local communities, whether this meant building infrastructure, updating what was already constructed, teaching English, helping in anti-human trafficking efforts, caring for orphans, speaking at churches, assisting and spending time with the elderly, praying with the ill, or encouraging the locals. Our goal was (and still is!) to make Earth look a little more like Heaven every day as we bring the heart of God to the nations through love, service, hope, and joy.

In January 2015, I will be involved in similar types of ministries, but also leading N Squad. (Squad is just the fancy World Race way to say the group of 50-ish I will be leading on the journey.)  N Squad will travel for the full 11 months just as I did, but since I am in leadership, I will be with them only for their first 5 months on the field.  At that time, the rest of the leadership team and I will select Racers, from within the squad,  to take our places and lead the squad the rest of their journey. After I fly home, I will be able to meet up with the group at their Month 8 and Month 11 Debriefs to, well, debrief. We will see how teams are doing, how the last few months have gone, have one-on-ones, and encourage the squad to continue chasing after the fullness that the Lord has for them on this journey.

N Squad

It is with complete humility and joy that I am taking on this new adventure. As a squad leader, my main focus for the 5 months will be to love and serve my squad. I will be involved in vision-casting and culture-setting for the group, as well as work to foster team and individual health- spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Part of my role also includes administrative, logistical, and financial tasks. More than anything, I am looking forward to spending time with the squad, getting to know them, seeing them take leaps of faith and cling to the Lord as they enter new places and discover more of who they are. I know from my own personal experience that God uses the World Race in huge ways to transform the hearts of Racers as they grow closer to Him. I experienced enormous amounts of growth both spiritually and emotionally on the World Race, and I am honored to be a part of this process for N Squad. They are already a passionate, bold, and fiercely loving group of world-changers, and I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses and grows them this year.

And what y’all are really wanting to know… where I’ll be going:

Philippines

Thailand

Cambodia

Vietnam

   Zambia

Please join me in praying for these Racers as they prepare to head to the nations in just a few weeks! They are embarking not only on a physical journey, but also a spiritual one—one that the Lord will use them to teach them so much more about who He is and who they are in Him, a journey that will change them forever! I also ask you to pray for me, for unwavering peace and confidence, rest in the preparation, and financial support. In order to lead N Squad, I am asked to raise $6,500. I am confident that God has called me to this role and that He will orchestrate the incoming of these funds. If you would like to financially partner with me on this journey, you can make a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation by clicking on the “Support Me!” link on the left-hand side of this page. Thank you!

Much love,

Katie
