Hello sweet friends. I’ll start this off by apologizing for not writing this blog sooner. Sheep happens (sorry, training camp joke). But seriously, I’ve been putting this blog off for the last few weeks. Training camp was incredible and honestly too incredible to even express fully in words. That being said, I haven’t been sure of what to say about it other than the fact that I grew SO much over the course of those 10 days.
At training I was finally able to meet my squad (the 40 people that I will be traveling with). And they’re legit. I love them so much already. They radiate the love of Christ in everything that they do. Seriously. They’re awesome. Also at training, I was assigned my team. My team is who I will live/sleep/eat with 24/7 while on the field. They’re the 5 sweetest souls I’ve ever met. I’m so so so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us as a squad and as a team.
AND GUESS WHAT!!! I have super duper exciting news….
We were assigned our first ministry location!!!! Holy cow, it’s starting to get real you guys. My team along with one other team will be staying in Antigua, Guatemala working with Nueva Generacion ministry. All that I know we will be doing there right now is helping the ministry teach, plan events, and help with soccer tournaments. I can’t wait to get there and meet the people we’ll be working with and see what other ways we’ll be contributing to the ministry. PLEASE be praying for this ministry and our time there.
GUESS WHAT ELSE
“You mean there’s more??”
Oh, yes. There’s more 🙂
I am over 70% funded for the race!!! WOOP WOOP! My blog says that I have raised almost $10,000 but I’ve actually raised over that. This means that I have a little over $3,000 to raise by November. But, I would love to be fully funded before I leave on August 4th. I’m praying hard that the Lord would provide it before I leave, but I trust His will and I know that His timing is perfect. If you haven’t supported me financially yet, please prayerfully consider it. Whether it’s $10, $100, or $3,000 😉 anything helps!
Also, on top of the $14,000 I’ve had to raise, I have to have another $200 or so per month. This additional money goes towards extra food/miscellaneous things (toiletries, clothes, ect.) that I will need while on the field. If you feel led, I would be so grateful if you decided to support this need by donating monthly. If this is something that you’re interested in, please contact me and I will let you know the best way to do that.
Thank you everyone for your support financially and through prayer. Continue to pray.
P.s. I LEAVE IN 9 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
