At one point or another we have all realized that our choices in life may have not been the best ones for us, but we had to learn the ‘hard’ way. By hard way I really mean that we are selfish and give into our own desires without evaluating God’s will for us. Whether it was disobeying our parents, dating experiences, or just daily decisions, it has happened to all of us. We go about thinking that we are in control of everything and that we have the right to control these situations.
Wrong.
We don’t have the right to do anything. In God’s eyes we are worthless rags and stupid sheep, yet He loves us and allows us to stumble, and THEN He helps us back on the right path every single time. Wow. He is incredible.
Why is it that we think we are more powerful and in control than the Almighty God? Ha, I have to laugh because it amuses me that we think we are wiser than the Lord. We think that He never sees our secrets or faults if we just bottle them inside. We think we know our best intentions, though in reality we are just living for the worldly ways. He knows everything, all the time. I look back on things I have done, knowing that it wasn’t God’s will for my life, yet he forgives me anyway. I will still continue to make these mistakes but His grace and mercy overflows, how incredible is that?
Here are a few things I have learned recently:
My will will never be better than God’s will for my life.
He is the one that leads everything in my life.
It’s not my way, it’s His way.
He is worthy of my obedience.
I will be strengthened by His power.
I need to have joy through the struggles.
I need to know God’s will in every situation.
I need to walk in a manner worthy of The Lord.
All of these are extremely convicting, but such an eye opener and heart opener. The Lord has our best intentions in mind and most of the time we take advantage of that. We think we are bigger and better than the creator of the universe. After applying to this race I can say that I finally understand His will for my life. He has prepared me for something this incredible and life changing with such joy and peace through the process. He has taught me patience and allowed me to open my eyes to the bigger picture and our mission while living on this earth.
He created us for His glory and I need to be glorifying Him in ALL that I do. I am His and He is mine. I am very satisfied to wear the brand as a Christ follower and I couldn’t be more in love with my Savior. He has brought me this opportunity and I am putting full faith in His plans, for he provides.
Lord, all I can say is, not my will but YOURS be done.
