HAPPY NEW YEAR from London! Here are a few shots from my visit to the Thames to see the fireworks…
The passenger bubbles of the London Eye are barely visible through the screaming fire and colored clouds.
They shot fireworks from the barges on the river and from the Eye itself. It was awesome!

I can’t believe it’s 2009!!!
Brian and Stacy and I were the only ones brave enough to withstand the cold on the riverfront for the best fireworks-viewing area in town. We danced the night away to stay warm and literally fought the crowds to hold our place. Great fun!
A London copper sits astride her horse keeping watch over the crowds, ensuring no harmful events occur.
…and the detriment of merriment is left upon the city streets for workers to clean up…wine bottles and beer cans galore…the ways the world celebrates and drowns out its pain with substances are enhanced during such holidays.
