For the past two weeks I’ve been with a new team, assembled from three WR July ’08 teams, traveling through Myanmar (Burma). Team V-Fusion is composed (fused) of five (V) people including myself, Natalie Montgomery and Sara Ellis from 5-Alive, and Tara Stephenson and Zach Parish from JOY.

My heart has been broken…and I do believe I left a little piece of it in Myanmar. During the next week or so I will be writing blogs, sharing photos and videos about our time in the country. In short, our visit was nothing short of incredible times 100. It’s going to be hard to sum up.

But here’s an image that will stay with me forever…we spend one day visiting two villages in the Ayerwaddy Delta, where Cyclone Nargis hit a mere six months ago. While reconstruction has begun, everywhere we looked we saw signs of the destruction. This photo was taken as we were leaving this village after spending time playing with children and giving out what felt like the smallest gift I’ve ever given…noodles, soap and candles.

The whole village, it felt, waved goodbye to us as we left.

More to come soon.
