Hello readers!
Sorry to be so AWOL. Romania was a tough month for me, and I
have limited internet here in Moldova, but good news is this is shaping up to
be one of my favorite months! I like the ministry very much. In the morning, we
build relationships with locals by helping them practice their English. It has
already opened the door to spiritual conversations and to hanging out with them
outside of ministry time. My teammate attended her 13-year-old student’s swim
meet, and it meant the world to him. In a few days, I will spend the whole day
hanging out and sight-seeing with some of my students.
In the afternoons, we do construction work on the family
life center the church is building—a center for sports, counseling, church, a
rehab center, and every activity imaginable. They built a rock climbing wall
for it just a few days ago, which I am really excited about 🙂
Overall, the tone of my month is thankfulness. I’m thankful
to have ministry that I love. I’m thankful for my housing situation—I live in a
room with 11 other women, and it’s like a giant sleep-over party every night.
I’m thankful that our food is provided for us so we can eat good Moldovan food.
I’m thankful for warm showers because it is quite cold here. I’m thankful for
the sunny days, and I’m thankful for the excellent company and conversations of
my teammates and Team Relentless Light.
If you want to pray, just pray that our conversations with
our English partners would open doors for spiritual conversations, pray for the
salvation of the people here, and pray for my squadmates Aline, Kari, and
Kayla, all of whom are quite sick.
I’ll be sending more thoughts your way soon.
Love to you all!
Katie
