Friends have gotten married.  Babies have been born and people have died. It’s easy to get distracted by social media.  Even more so on the race it’s easy to get lost in all that’s happening around the world.  When the bombings in Paris happened in November of 2015, my team was in a small village in Ethiopia.  More than a week later someone made a remark about the tragedy that occurred; without wifi we were clueless as to what had happened.  As I scroll through my facebook feed, I see death.  I see hatred, rage, sadness, racism and countless other things that sadden my heart.  Coming back to America my team is going to be thrown back into this world that just kept on spinning while we were away. Tensions have escalated and society has shifted. We’ve forgotten what love is. My prayers go out to all of the families who have experienced loss in these recent tragic events.
