I’m super ready for bed (it’s 7:23) after a long adventurous day.  We left at 8 this morning to go volcano boarding! More info on that to come but I obviously survived.  After that we got pizza and then when to a water park (read pool with a slide).  Our driver Mario convinced them to give us a discount.  It was a blast since we had a couple guys from the discipleship group with us.  Needless to say, I’m all worn out.

In Ethiopia we worked in a baby orphanage.

So the memory from month 3 is a picture that you are all doubtless familiar with as you see it every time I post a blog.

This little 2 1/2 year old nugget was named Doodoo.   He was absolutely a naughty child.  He dropped my hair band in one of those yellow canteens in the background, stole a cane from an old lady, was quick to get cranky when you didn’t give him something…so basically he was a stereotypical “terrible two” year old toddler.

But when he smiled, goodness my heart lit up 🙂  He was wary of all of us at first but after a while he would run to me, arms open wide when I called his name.  I think there are very few things that can make my heart burst like that.  Seeing a child grinning, overjoyed to run into your arms…my heart is breaking all over again.  If I could have adopted him, I would have.  I miss that little man.
