It’s taken me a long time to sit down and write this partially because I’m in denial and partially because we’ve just been so busy. This month is the beginning of the end of O Squad’s World Race. I can’t believe it, it’s month 11.

So far Kenya has been really great and I find myself falling more and more with God’s creativity every day. This month we’re living on a YWAM base in Athi River outside of Nairobi. Each day we work with the current YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) team to do different outreach activities including: door to door evangelism, open air market preaching, and a children’s camp. It’s been fun, exhausting, and stretching. But would it even be the Race if it weren’t?

Here on the base we’re pretty fortunate and get to see a lot of exciting things. We’re very close to a national park so right outside of our compound we can see all types of wildlife like zebras, gazelles, antelope, wildebeests, and giraffes. I can see where the Lion King got its inspiration from, this place is absolutely beautiful.

I hope over these last few weeks to give some updates about what we’re doing and some helpful hints on how re-entry will go. I ask that you please please please be in prayer over each member of O Squad as time is dwindling quickly, sickness is real, and exhaustion is setting in. Pray against apathy. Pray against doubt. Pray for strength.

We only have 15 days, friends. Prepare your hearts.

All the love from Kenya,

Katie Mere
