PEACE OUT, SPARKLE CITY! THIS SOUTH CAROLINIAN IS MOVING TO FLORIDA!
I know you’re thinking, wait wut, but bear with me and I’ll explain it all!
Over the last two weeks, I was offered, applied for, and ultimately accepted a position as the youth ministry intern with Mandarin United Methodist in Jacksonville, Florida. This means that I’ll get to work alongside and learn from one of the greatest role models I’ve ever had. The youth pastor I’ll be working with is the very same one who helped guide my walk with Christ when I was in middle and high school, through times I wasn’t even sure there was a God that loved me. To say I’m excited would be a vast understatement!
During my time at Mandarin UMC, I’ll get to write and lead devotion during the week, preach a sermon, organize events, help plan and lead different youth trips (including the mission trip), go on pastoral visits, and so much more. God is placing me somewhere that is going to help me learn and grow so much more than I ever could imagine!
As I step out on this journey I ask that you also step out with me. I will be traveling 406 miles away to follow where God is leading me next month. In an effort to raise some more support for my World Race, I ask that you prayerfully consider adopting a mile of this huge move for me! Each mile is going to be $3 and once each mile is sponsored I will have busted straight through my next support raising milestone! More than one mile can be adopted at a time and I’m hoping to have my entire move sponsored by the time I leave at the end of May (wow that’s sooner than I realized!).
Above all else, I ask that each person who reads this commits to pray for this transition in my life. Pray for my heart, pray for each member of my new church, and pray for the people I will leave in Spartanburg. I can’t wait to see the amazing things God will do this summer to and through this decision!
Love always,
Katie
