Hello All and welcome,
To start off I have to confess, I never thought that I would have a blog. I am not the most tech savvy person in the world and do not flatter myself by thinking that I have anything profound to say. However as I look to the future, I see that even though my thoughts may not be profound, they will be real and heart felt, and will combine my love for the Lord with the crazy adventure that he is about to send me on. So with that, I say thank you and welcome. I look forward to sharing the next year and half of my life with you and who knows maybe longer.
Things you should know and a few extras,
My name is Katie Mastropaolo and I was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia. I grew up surrounded by a tightknit family and I would not be who I am today without their love, support, coaching, and encouragement.
I have always had a desire to travel and see the Lords creation firsthand. To love his people, to put all of my trust in him, and to learn more about the person I am to be. I am so excited for the opportunity that the World Race is providing, to live out the gospel and follow the path that the Lord has laid before me. For the Lord calls us to go. To preach the gospel (Mark 16:15), to make disciplines, (Matthew 28:19) and to tell of his wonders (Psalms 96:3) And my hearts desire is to do just that, knowing that the Lord will be there every step of the way.
A few things that make up who I am…
11 Facts: (one for each month)
- I think that dark chocolate and mint is the best possible combination ever.
- That being said I extremely dislike peanut butter and chocolate (yes that means I do not like Reese’s)
- I have had the travel bug forever, I even think it affected my choice in choosing my major in College.
- I graduated from The University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, with a concentration in Cultural and Human Geography.
- This past year I was blessed to have the opportunity to be a yearlong intern at a Young Life camp in Central Oregon called Washington Family Ranch.
- Now that I have lived in the North West I now have the internal battle of wither or not I love the Northwest better than the east coast.
- I got 6 stitches this past year for the first time since I was a little baby, not that interesting… I was cutting a rubber chicken off of a pole. (Only at young life camp) That was 6 months ago and I still cannot feel the side of my finger.
- I have one younger brother named Steven, who is one of the best people that I know and is way cooler than me.
- I am probably the only person in the world that does not like coffee, and got through all 4 years of college without one single cup. This past year I lost a bet and had to drink my first cup of black coffee and thought I was going to be sick.
- One of my goals is to go camping in all 59 National Parks of the United States.
- Psalm 25:1
