Okay so lets be real … fundraising is rarely something any adult enjoys doing, although there are those weird few. I grew up thinking that to ask for help was a sign of weakness, if you want something or want something done you work hard and do it yourself end of story.  I mean really I moved out when I was 17 and lived on my own paying all my bills, working between 1-3 jobs at a time. Everything I own I pretty much have bought myself minus gifts given at Christmas and birthdays.  Joining the Marine Corps even emphasized this more, I mean I LOVE to help others and am always willing to give a helping hand but ME oh no ..  I can move my whole life and all the boxes in it by myself, don’t you worry about me I got this!! I would rather suffer and take a whole day to move by myself than to ask a few friends and get the same task accomplished in a few hours .. can you say too prideful and stubborn?? REALLY who am I kidding!! Yard sales are a no go for me ..  asking for money even in exchange for an item stresses me out!  I was even a coupon snob .. I felt that if I used a coupon people would think I didn’t have enough money to pay full price for the items.

Thankfully over time and through the process of growing up and life experiences, I have come to realize my pride and stubbornness do not really get me anywhere and that it is okay to ask for help.  Living in community and relying on God and one another has been such an eye opening experience for me and such a better way to live life.  I knew going into the World Race that I was going to be stretched and have to do things I usually would refuse,  BUT God is so amazing! Through all this He has stayed right next to me and held my hand.  Although still rough around the edges my heart has been softened, my pride is being chipped away at and I actually cry now!! I may not go looking for coupons but am not afraid to use them and I am planning on holding a yard sale once I move back to Arizona.  I would like to call this my transitional season!

So with all that said, I am very anxious and excited to announce that THEY are here!! My very first fundraiser for my mission trip!!

I have partnered with Threads of Hope to bring to you handmade bracelets crafted by Filipino artisans!!  The deal is this .. 1 bracelet is $2 or 3 bracelets for $5 … 50% of all the proceeds will go towards funding my missions trip with the World Race and the other half I will send back to Threads of Hope.

Threads of Hope – “Your purchase makes it possible to provide hundreds of impoverished families with a steady income so that they can feed and clothe their families, send their children to school and protect them from being exploited by those who are anxious to rob them of their childhood innocence. The purchasing of these products is life altering for these families and cannot be overestimated.”

If you live in SoCal and would like to purchase some bracelets I can bring them to you. As of right now I just plan on selling them person to person as people come along.  If you don’t live near me but would still like to support Threads of Hope and my missions trip, send me an email, text, or call and I will send them to you! Please, if you have ANY questions contact me. Thank you for your continued support and prayers!!
