Now that I am an official “adult” I thought it would be fitting to reflect on a couple things I have learned by this fine age of 21.
1. Let it Go. Disney and the movie “Frozen” have burned this saying in to the brains of just about anyone who has contact with young children, but in all seriousness this has been a major life lesson for me. I have a bit of a type A personality that likes to try to plan and control every little detail. God has made sure of it though through SO MANY things that I hand everything over to Him. All I need to be is patient and steadfast.
“You can make many plans, but the Lords purpose will prevail.” Proverbs 19.21
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
2. Be Love. You know those people that naturally radiate with kindness and love? Yea thats not me, but I really want it to be. I am quick to judge, and too often forget how far a little kindness can go. One of God’s greatest commands is to LOVE. He reminds me time and time again…and I fail over and over. I have hope through Him that it is something I can change.
“Above all, love each other deeply..” 1 Peter 4:8
“Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14
I know that the World Race is going to be life changing, and I guarantee this will not be the last time you will hear me talking about these two things. I cannot wait to see how God has worked through me by age 22, but for now I will take it one day at a time. So cheers to a new year full of adventure! 🙂
