There are so many wonderful memories from this month. It’d take a while to share all of the stories. I will say that I’m enjoying is saying “Remember when….?” For example:
Remember that one time we went to a Million dollar wedding? (The reception was seriously a combination of a Grammy award ceremony and movie star wedding.) Remember when we ate our way through India? Remember when we tried to go to a Cricket game and ended up chilling in line for an hour while it monsoon-ed. Remember when we experienced Frogger while the streets were flooded? Remember when we piled 5 people into a Tugtug (aka rickshaw, auto, etc.)?
There’s also:
Remember when we created a bunch of inside jokes because we just can’t seem to understand what peoples are saying? (So many hilarious misunderstandings!) Remember when the roads of India redefined “head banging?” Remember that one time we got coconuts on the side of the road from a woman with mad machete skills? Remember when we danced and laughed like fools and realized the children we were ministering to were way more mature than us?
Plus there’s:
Remember all those songs, games, and stories we taught the kids? Remember when they taught us how to eat the Indian way and draw Mahanadi? Remember the Botanical Garden we all visited and played at? Remember that massive water fight we had? (Not even those with cameras were safe.) Remember all those nights we shared our testimonies, talked too much and laughed just enough?
And don’t forget:
Remember when we sang with children and heard them praising and crying out to the Lord of the universe? There aren’t many things more beautiful than that. Remember visiting Abyham and sharing our hearts with those coming out of addiction through the power of Jesus Christ? Remember praying for people we’ve never met before but feeling so connected, it’s like we’ve known them for years? Remember all those times God showed up when we didn’t have a plan?
It’s been difficult to properly document everything as it happens but I’m enjoying rehashing things with the wonderful women I’m serving with. As our stories build up, I’m both surprised how much we’ve packed into the month and shocked at how quickly it’s gone by. I look forward to moving forward from country to country and saying, remember when?
