Dear Family and Friends,

I hope this letter finds you doing well! I’m writing to share some exciting updates with you. In May, I will be graduating from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a major in kinesiology and a minor in psychology. I have loved my time in college, so it is bittersweet to see college come to an end, but I know there are even greater things to come. One of my favorite things about college has been my involvement in Cru, a Christian ministry organization, through which I have met some of my best friends, participated in and led Bible studies, attended retreats and conferences, learned an incredible amount, and, as some of you may remember, even went on a life-changing mission trip to Ghana, Africa.

With graduation comes the obvious question about what’s next. Well, I am beyond excited to say that I will be giving a year to do missions around the world with a program called the World Race through Adventures in Missions (AIM). I leave in September! God has used my experiences in college to open my eyes to the brokenness all around, to amaze me with the beauty of His grace, and to give me a passion to share the true restoration and joy I find in Jesus with people around the world.

The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 different countries to serve “the least of these,” addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people we meet. Each month will look different. The World Race has partnerships with churches and local ministries, through which we may work in orphanages, teach in schools, do construction, play with street kids, minister to victims of sex trafficking, and more, all while showing God’s love and sharing the truth of Jesus.

This will be a challenging year, but one of so much personal growth and learning. It will not be easy to leave all the people I love dearly and to give up the comforts of my life here, but it will all be worth it, considering the joy in serving Christ. However, I cannot do this trip alone. First, I need a team of prayer warriors to be praying for me and my squad. Additionally, I’m asking for financial support to make this trip possible. I need to raise over $16,000 to cover the cost of food, lodging, travel, and insurance.  It would mean so much to me if you would give financially to send me out to the world. Will you join me in taking this step of faith?

You can stay updated on my journey at my blog www.katiejacobson.theworldrace.org. On my blog you will also find a “Support Me!” tab on the left side, where you can make an online donation, either one-time or monthly. Another option is to mail a check (payable to Adventures in Missions and with my name in the memo line) as well as the enclosed response card to:  Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374

Thank you for considering donating to make change possible, both in the lives of the people we meet and in my own life. Your friendship and encouragement is truly a blessing. I look forward to talking with you more about this opportunity of the World Race. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 301-821-6740 with any questions you may have (or with your own life updates!).

With love,

Katie Jacobson
