I remember at church a few years ago my pastor preached about how the enemy can use a blessing to hold you back in your walk with God. I remember thinking that was crazy because how could God’s blessing ever be a bad thing? But if God gives you a blessing for a season, the enemy can drag out that blessing longer than God intended and you will become so comfortable with it that you won’t want to move from where you’re at. That’s how the enemy works. All he has to do is convince you that if it’s a gift from God, you can keep it for as long as you want.

Team Pomme Frites, it’s safe to say I’m at that point with you guys. You guys were an answered prayer to me. One of my prayers since month one has been to build deep friendships, and I got all 5 of you! This team has been the biggest blessing to my heart. You guys have shown me mercy, love, and true community in a way I’ve never experienced it before. Thank you for always calling me to be a better person and for loving me even when I’m ridiculously grumpy for no reason. I’ve learned so much about God and how he views me in the past 4 months and I know you all played a huge role in that. If it was up to me, I wouldn’t let this team separate but I know that God is continually calling us to greater things than we can ever imagine so I will hold tight to that hope.

Even in 5 years we will all be in different places around the world but I will always think back on my time with you guys as some of the best months of my life. I’ve been happier the last few months than I’ve been in years. I’m excited to see all that God has for you guys for the rest of this year and I can’t wait to meet up at each debrief and spend time together <3 It’s a bittersweet goodbye because I’m so sad to not be spending my days with these people anymore, but I don’t feel like we wasted any time as a team. I have no regrets with them. We lived life to the fullest and always made the most of our time and for that I am thankful! We loved Jesus and he showed us how to love each other.

For those of you wondering at home, this week we raise up new leaders on the squad which means the teams will be switched around so my time with this team is over! 🙁 here are some of my favorite memories with this group!

AMY! The leader of the pack ????
My favorite memory: That time we were hiding from the boys so we hid in Kevin Odom’s bathroom and then climbed out his window and then jumped a ledge to escape.
What I’ll miss the most: Learning how different the US is from England! And occasionally being roasted for knowing less US history than you do! And catching you when you fall out of hammocks.

Jessie! My homegirl (literally)
My favorite memory: I really think watching Harry Potter and indulging on Nutella with you in Madagascar is a hard time to beat. Also jumping into the Indian Ocean while we were riding wave runners!
What I’ll miss most: definitely definitely definitely talking about the great mitten state

Todd!!!! My punching bag (don’t worry, he enjoys it)

My favorite memory: When you fell asleep during team prayer time and you were snoring so loud…
What I’ll miss most: learning how to be a better fighter!! Who am I supposed to take my physical aggression out on now?

Greg… how do I even sum up our friendship!?
My favorite memory: where to even start! My memory book is 75% you doing wild and outrageous things… but one of my favorite memories was when we were reunited after manistry and you made us all easter baskets with the nicest letters 🙂 Also when you dropped your butter knife in church.
What I’ll miss most: I’m at a loss because I don’t know who I’m supposed to argue with everyday anymore. But more importantly I’m gonna miss laughing as hard as I have for the last 4 months!

Gabby… my partner in crime!
My favorite memory: when we visited a house in Bali and they asked us to sing a song, so we all started singing and it was a solid 5 seconds before you realized you were singing the wrong song
What I’ll miss most: Oh boy. I might as well answer this question in typical Gabby fashion! I’m going to miss it all! You laughing at my jokes, always waiting on me when I’m the slowest person, having dance parties and singing ridiculously loud… and so many more things!

Love you Team Pomme Frites!!! <3
