Hello, My name is Katie and I am feeling incandescently loved.
Merry Christmas all you wonderful good-hearted people. Next year, I am not entirely sure where I will be in this world of ours. I suppose no one can say with complete certainty where they will be in 365 days… But at this point I think I will be somewhere in Nepal with a few people that I have met briefly, doing something that I have probably never done before… Wait… what? I sound crazy… I know.
I think the knowledge that next year will be vastly different is what pulled my focus deeply into what was going on around me throughout this Christmas season. Every little thing seemed more dear… Each hug seemed to last a bit longer… Each present I opened almost made me cry. Nana’s incredible dinner tasted even better than last year (but she is excellent in the kitchen so…) You people love me so very much… My family in Georgia, my family in Chicago, my incredible friends… There are no words to fully describe how much I am going to miss y’all. Thank you for loving me so well… Thank you for Christmas… Thank you for memories… and please keep me from taking anything for granted ever again!
“But God demonstrated his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ~Romans 5:8
LOVE. CHRISTMAS. LOVE.
