The past few years after graduating high school I have spent by diving head first into the world of light, shutter speed, posing, and everything else encompassing photography. It has been a fantastic journey and has taught me a tremendous amount about life in general, and the type of person I want to become in this world of ours. Photography is a form of art while also being very instrumental in bringing injustice or tremendous need into the light for all to see. I have fallen in love with its power to capture emotion and cause an entire nation to feel the struggle or joy of a single individual. It is impossible for me to see one of Steve McCurry’s photographs without feeling the devastation or complete elation pulsating from the collection of pixels in front of my eyes. There is a world out there that is suffering and in desperate need of the gospel of Christ Jesus. I want to be the hands and feet of Christ… even if that means that I am covered in dirt and far from everything that is normal and comfortable to me.
