Have I really only been at training camp for 4 days? The remaining clean clothes in my pack say so, but that supply, and my energy, is quickly dwindling.

The past few 19-hour days have been filled with the kind of thing I’d rather tell you about face-to-face than through a blog. Most of what’s going on is inside me; it’s hard to describe and includes lots of dramatic gestures. I’d said before that I was excited to meet so many people who shared my passions, but to tell you the truth… it’s been unnerving. But in the midst of this confusing bit of community forming, we’ve yelled and sang, sweat a lot, and (maybe) quoted every single one of my favorite Disney movies.
You. cannot. imagine. my intense burst of enthusiasm when I found out that a big part of World Race squad tradition is….
DANCE COMPETITION.
Are you kidding me?! For those of you who have said, “Katie, you were made for this.” Yes, to you: YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
Don’t misunderstand, it hasn’t been all campfire fun and trust falls. My dwindling energy is the result of running around barefoot in this Georgia heat, nourished only by ugali and beans. Google “ugali” right now.
Another thing to do right now: check out Tiffany. She’s my squad leader, and she is bangerang. The words she has spoken over me and over this trip will blow your mind.

Check back soon to find out about my team!
