I have been waiting to share this with you for several weeks, and now I’m finally able to.
October 27th was a full day. We were in Ipoh, about to go to a place called Bethany Home for the week. It’s a training center and school for mentally disabled children, and we were excited for the challenge and experience. When we arrived, Chandler went to look around the school, and came back beaming.
“I didn’t know how to tell you guys this, but this morning when I was praying, I kept hearing the phrase, ‘Light up your heart,’ over and over again. And… well, just come see what’s in this room!”
We followed her to Bethany Home’s main meeting room, and saw this:
We all just smiled. It was a small but awesome confirmation that, once again, we were in the right place, exactly where we were supposed to be.
That phrase ran deeper for me though. Hours before leaving for Bethany Home, that phrase came up in a conversation. I was at Old Town White Coffee, on Skype with my parents. I called them after getting an email from my sister, Lora, which had me crying with joy. My mom told me,
“The heartbeat looked like a flashing light on the monitor.”
A new heartbeat: my first niece or nephew.
There aren’t words for how much my own heart lit up with that news, and still lights up talking about it. Sometime in early June, I am going to be an AUNT!
