Last night I saw the hands of Jesus. My team and I were outside praying when we heard a voice shouting,
“Help! The house is on fire and there are people inside!” My eyes opened to the reailty of what was going on and my feet took off running towards the flames. What I saw was terrifying. I saw two windows side by side. Flames spilling out of one and childrens arms reaching out the other. These widows were made with metal bars that covered them with only a two inch gap between each bar. Three people from my squad had already reached the window and were pulling on the arms of the children who were trapped, trying to squeeze them out. I soon realized that their bodies would never fit through the little gap that each bar left so I ran around front to see if there was another way in. When i arrived I saw the front door had been kicked open and children being carried out. I had to be told later who it was from our squad that ran into the house and pulled these little kids outs. I was standng right in front of the man that pulled them out but i had no recollection to who it was. I didnt see his face at all. I did see hands but they werent the hands of man but the hands of Jesus.
I grabbed one of the little girls that was taken out of the house and took her across the street to get her far from the smoke. The same little girl that I saw trapped in fire remained in my arms for the next two hours. As I held her tightly, I stood in awe of the power of God. The flames at this point were moving pretty rapidly. Three small jugs of water were trhown against the blaznig fire and it was completely put out. I can stand in confidence when I say that water did not put out the fire. That little amount of water had NO power over that fire. I believe God demolished that fire with HIS great power.
As I held this little girl for hours the Lord kept giving me lyrics to sing over her. Over and over I sang,
Did you know that it was Jesus that saved you?
Yeah He saved you today.
Did you know that it was HIS arms that carried you away from the flames.
He carried you far away.
Did you feel that it was His feet that took you from destruction into safety?
Did you know that it was Jesus that saved you?
Yeah He saved you today
It was His arms that carried you away
Even after the little girl left my arms I found myself still singing those lyrics. The more I sang the clearer the voice of the Lord became. The Lord started to speak those lyrics directly to me.

Did you feel that it was my arms that carried you from harm?
Did you recognize that it was my feet that took yours from destruction and lead them into safety.
Feel my arms…they are carrying you now.
How often do i miss the Lords hands in my life? I have missed opportunities to share His glory and power because I have failed to recognize that it was the hands of Jesus that carried me away. That is was HIS feet that took mine from destruction and lead them to safety. How many times has Jesus walked in the room and I have failed to miss His presence because i was blinded by the choas around me. I am praying the Lord awakens my spirit. The hand of Jesus are at work all around us. I dont want to miss any of it. Awaken me my Lord!
