A Day in the Domincan Republic

7:00 Town wide alarm goes off – sounds more like a tsunami or tornado warning than anything!
7:30 My alarm goes off
8:00 I get up (still can’t get up at an alarm – some things never change!)
9:00 Team worship and prayer
10:00 Time to leave for ministry
10:15 Actually leave for ministry (if its a good day!)

10:30(ish) Drop Denise at the church where she teaches guitar
10:35(ish) Visit the nearby school while Pastor Raul checks to make sure everything is running smoothly
11:00 (ish)Finally arrive at Buenos Aries Church. In the mornings we teach the kids guitar and basketball, break out the slack line, and just hang out and play games.

1:30 Back at the house for lunch
1:45 Town wide alarm sounds
Afternoon siesta : showers, laundry, blogging, emails – unless the power and water are out. Then walking around town, napping and reading. Maybe going for frozen yogurt…

6:00 Town wide alarm sounds (starting to get sick of it…)
Anywhere between 5:00 and 7:00: Leave for ministry
Evening ministries are anything from helping out in a worship service to prayer walks in a community to sports camp to helping out at movie night

9:30 Back at the house for dinner
10:00 Team Feedback about the day
11:30 Realize we forgot to do the dinner dishes
Midnight: Bedtime finally!
