We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I expect…
To be honest, I am not completely sure what I am expecting out of this mission trip, other than I expect it to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I could not think of a better way to spend a year, than being able to travel all over the world doing the Lords work. I expect to have some amazing unimaginable things happen to me, my teammates, and the people who we get to meet while we are traveling. I expect to grow in my relationship with the Lord more in the next year than I have probably in the past 21 years. I expect to learn things about myself and the world that I could never learn if I were to be staying in my comfort zone with my family. I am most worried about being away from my family. Although I am a pretty independent person, rarely do I go more than 2 weeks or so without going home. And I talk to them as often as I can on the phone while away at school. So I guess if I need prayer for anything it is for strength and not getting homesick. 🙂 Even though I am worried about that, I could not be more excited about this upcoming mission trip and am so ready to go on this adventure!!
