Day off in Tauranga
New
Zealand has been so amazing so far. This week has mainly consisted of worship
sessions and team building time; however, we got to go on an adventure on
Wednesday. We drove about 2 hours from Matamata where we have been living to
Tauranga. There we got to hangout and have a free day on the beach. While we
were there I decided that instead of just sitting around I wanted to do
everything I possible could; so, me and a group of about 6 other people decided
to climb a small mountain that overlooked the beach called Mount Maunganui. The
hike up was really cool… except for the part where I am way out of shape. But
then when we got to the top we got to lookout over the ocean and the town below
us. It was so worth it.
When we came back down, we found another group of racers who
had found a place to go cliff jumping.
Which of course I was all for. So we walked out onto this small
peninsula and started climbing up. Once we got to the top we had to do a little
rock climbing down to get to the point where we could jump. It ended up being
about 25 ft. high, but it was such a rush, and the water was pretty cold when
we hit so it kind of took my breath away. Then we climbed back up and it was
time to come back to Matamata.
