This month we are in Draganesti, Romania.
We have the honor and privilege of working with some wonderful missionaries who have obediently followed God’s calling to be a light in one of the poorest & darkest counties in Romania, Olt.
There are currently 500,000 people in Olt county
& only 700 believers.

[Olt County is way down in the southern (blue) part of Romania]
Our ministry this month is a variety of things:
- Running children’s programs
- Walking around and handing out invitations
- Evangelism in the communtiy
- Putting the finishing touches on the church
- Pouring into the missionaries & workers at the church

[Children's Program]
Something I am really looking forward to this month:
we get to be here for the dedication of their church in Draganesti. They have been building & working on the church for the last 3 years. I feel so honored that I get to be here for the dedication & week-long celebration of the church opening.
Some fun & funny things that have happened so far:
- Yogurt and granola are common breakfast foods (atleast for us americans) & due to the language barriers we ended up with sour cream for breakfast the first day… in case this ever happens to you, just add sugar and continue to eat with granola.
- Horse & buggy are a main form of transportation in town & four of us got to ride in one.

- To pass time we sing Disney songs at the top of our lungs.
- Often times we find ourselves in the middle of intense Romanian conversations and find so much joy pretending that we know what’s going.
- We’ve been here a total of 6 days and have been to the grocery store 5 of those days.
- At the local market we were able to buy 12 potatoes, 15 apples, 10 cucumbers, 8 onions, 8 eggplant, 7 loaves of bread, 1 butternut squash, & sugar for $12 USD. WHAT? That’s a lot of food for not much money.
- The doors lock with a key on both sides… for instance: if you want to get out of the house & it is locked, you have to unlock it with a key from the inside. If you don’t have a key, then good-luck… you’re stuck inside.
- The meat department at the store can be overwhelming at times and we end up asking questions like “So does this oink or moo?”
