What I am doing with my life right now? For the past 5 years I have been a student at Grand Valley State University. I graduated in April 2011 with a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. Even though I am “graduated” I have had to finish up my student teaching, which will be completed on June 3rd. When I started college I was determined to graduate and become a teacher. After 2 years of experience in 4 different classrooms, I am not 100% sure anymore that the traditional classroom is where I am meant to be. I do still love education & teaching, just not necessarily in the public school system. God has given me two things that I am REALLY passionate about: (1) babies & (2) individuals with special needs; we will see how God intertwines those into my life following The World Race. 🙂
As for the summer, I will continue to work at Faith House. It is a group home for 6 males with disabilities. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job at Faith House and it is one of the things I will miss the most while gone on The World Race. God has truly blessed me by this job, the individuals I work with, and their families.
